Remove The Comments Section From Your Wordpress Blog

Wordpress has become more than just a blogging platform in recent years – it is now widely regarded as a very useful Content Management System and as a result there are often times when developers want to build a Wordpress site that doesn’t include a comments section.

There are a couple of different ways in which you can disable Wordpress comments – the first is when writing a new blog post – simply scroll down to the “Dicussion” section and uncheck the “Allow comments on this page” checkbox.

This approach will disable comments for the new post that you’re writing, but it will most likely leave a message on your blog post stating that comments have been disabled. This isn’t ideal if you’re building a site that doesn’t use comments in any way shape or form!

A cleaner way if you know for sure that you wont need comments is to remove the following line from the single.php file:

<?php comments_template(); ?>

This will now completely remove the comments section from your Wordpress site.
