Here the solution.

replace the following code:
$loop = new WP_Query(array(‘post_type’ => ‘portfolio’, ‘posts_per_page’ => 10);

with this:
$loop = new WP_Query(array(‘post_type’ => ‘portfolio’, ‘posts_per_page’ => 10, ‘paged’ => $paged));

Now paging works. Next we have to add the Page Navigation.

After the we put this code:
query(‘showposts=5′.’&paged=’.$paged);
?>

Now we have a paged custom portfolio.
